Dollshouses: Not Just for Dollies, for Humans and Adults Too
Kensington Dollshouse Festival
Kensington Dollshouse Festival

The main Kensington Dollshouse Festival takes place in May, but the Christmas event is now a permanent fixture on the calendars of doll's house enthusiasts. You don't have to be a child to play with doll's houses; many adults collect these miniature treasures, or indeed build them and craft their own furniture and furnishings. The festival is attended by more than 170 dolls house and miniature makers from around the world, giving visitors an opportunity to talk to the artisans, as well as to indulge their hobby and absorb further inspiration and ideas.

The Christmas exhibition only lasts for one day, but the summer one takes in an entire weekend, which includes workshops and tours to other places in London.

Tickets are bookable via the website and are also available on the day. You could find yourself walking through a full sized door leading to a new and fascinating pastime. Take a closer look at the following pictures (all courtesy of the website) to fire up your imagination.
