What is Your House Trying to Tell You?

I've lived in the same house all my life, and though it is far from perfect, I love it to bits. I think part of the reason for this is because it is a generational house. It was built in the 1930s and belonged to my great grandparents; my grandma lived in it as a child, and although she made a brief move up north when she got married, quickly returned. She and her family moved to just around the corner, and inherited the house when her mother died. My dad then bought it off her, and now he, my mum, and I live together in (relative) harmony. Four generations have lived in this house, and it would seem wrong to sell it to anyone else. No matter what its flaws, I love my house.

Do you love yours? If so, do you know why, and if not, how can you make things better? If you are keen to find out more about the relationship you have with your house, then there is an interesting (and rather unusual) lecture coming up on the 26th July that you might like to attend.

You've heard of a dog whisperer and a dog whisperer, but have you ever heard of Christian Kyriacou, the international house whisperer? Kyriacou says he has had a spiritual connection with buildings since childhood; he claims he is able to sense their energy and vibrations - determine their 'personality'.

Kyriacou believes that the sound, shape, and 'soul' of a house can determine how well an individual engages with their home. If you have ever been house hunting, you probably know what he means. Some houses just speak to you, while others can leave you cold.

We don't always have the luxury of living in our dream house, but in a lecture at St. Leonards Hotel at 7.30pm, Kyriacou will help you understand how to feel happy in your home. He will reveal how resolving power struggles, calming stirred up emotions, attracting new love, dealing with divorce and betrayal, confronting paranormal activity, enhancing health, wealth, and emotional wellbeing can all have an impact on our relationship with where we live.

Tickets are 25 and include a buffet supper. In the lecture you will watch film clips, hear about case studies, discuss the art of feng shui, and ask questions such as 'Why was your soul originally drawn to your home?' and 'Do you believe your house chose you in the first place?'
