People in Staffordshire are being invited to enjoy a traditional summer seaside experience as a theatre in Tamworth opens up its doors for a brand-new season of entertainment. Tamworth Assembly Rooms is to host a new variety extravaganza this summer. The theatre will transport audiences to a traditional seaside pier setting on June 13, 14, 28 and 29, plus an afternoon and evening performance on July 3. People of all ages are invited to experience a classic end of pier variety show, taking them on a nostalgic trip down memory lane, back to the good old days when summer meant family trips to the Great British Seaside. Unfortunately, the Assembly Rooms is unable to provide those other typical seaside attractions such as donkey rides, Punch and Judy, fairground rides, deck chairs and sticks of rock.



The summer matinee shows at Tamworth will feature a feast of toe tapping music to get audiences singing along to, including classic favourites such as I Do Like to Be Beside the Seaside, Summertime Blues, In the Summertime, Little Stick of Blackpool Rock, and Summer Holiday. Performers will delight audiences with spectacular choreography and an array of dazzling costumes changes. The shows will feature a sensational cast of singers and dancers, with the highly acclaimed singer and musician Andy Eastwood, along with Revival Live UK resident comedian, the hilarious Gary T Thomson. Guests will also enjoy a delicious lunch, (matinee only) guaranteed to get everyone feeling full of seaside cheer.
