After a year at The Loft Studios in London, The Date crew are celebrating their first birthday on Saturday 2nd March 2013. The night will see a very rare UK appearance by the pioneering DJ and record producer, Tony Humphries , who in New York City is a legend for his House Music, an electronic dance style that took hold in Chicago during the 1980s.
Known as 'The Hump', he has collaborated with some of the best known artists such as Chaka Khan, Queen Latifah, and Janet Jackson. Humphries will deliver an intimate five-hour set exclusively for The Date's 1st birthday party celebrations. With resident DJ's such as Stuart Patterson, Tim Keenoy, and a guest appearance from Dave Jarvis and Si Kurrage, the checklist for a vintage, classic, and new disco beats will be ticked.
There are two rooms at The Loft, a studio and court yard, each with a state of the art sound system so you can choose if you would rather dance to disco, or party to house. The party starts at 9.30pm and continues into the early hours until 5am. You can book tickets for £18 but you better be snappy, as the first two hundred early bird tickets have already sold out.
