Adapted from a ghostly tale by Victorian author Wilkie Collins, The Ghost's Touch! is a chilling production presented by Rumpus Theatre Company. The Ghost's Touch will be on at the Theatre Royal Winchester for three shows from Tuesday 27th February till Wednesday 28th of February.
The story starts with Stephen Rayburn, a widower who is on an outing to Kensington Gardens with his daughter Lucy. When she returns from exploring the woods with a frightened look upon her face, Stephen cannot prepare himself for what lies in the dark. This chilling tale is fuelled lust and revenge with the thrilling madness of a true Victorian horror story.
The Ghost's Touch! stars Mark Homer (from Eastenders, Casualty and Silent Witness) and Terri Dwyer (from Law and Order UK, Holby City and Hollyoaks) as Stephen Rayburn and the mysterious woman in the woods, Mrs Zant.
The story comes from a collection of short stories by Wilkie Collins, it was originally published as 'The Ghost's Touch' but later renamed 'Mrs Zant and the Ghost'. Wilkie Collins is perhaps best known for his novel, 'The Woman in White', a book heralded as one of the first mystery novels.
