A New Industrial Revolution
According to the Design Museum, we are entering a 'new Industrial Revolution'. The way products are manufactured is changing, and this will affect the way businesses run and consumers shop. The primary, secondary, and tertiary markets all used to be quite separate from one another, but now those parallel lines are starting to bump.
The Future is Here (at least until the 29th October anyway) is an exhibition that explores just how this will impact our society. In it, you will learn how things are made, and the technology behind it. For example, there will be weekly Saturday afternoon talks that teach you 'Everything you ever needed to know about...' 3D printing and CNC machines (such as what CNC stands for), 3D printing software, appropriate technology, and mass customisation.
Admission to the Design Museum is £11.85 for adults and £7.50 for students. This will also include free tours on the 18th August & 20th October, in which you will be able to take part in a workshop to design your own inspired objects.
