So, this was another meet up over lunch with my colleagues - both current and former. One of them who lives local to this quaint little pub highly recommended the place.



Situated in a quiet (is that possible in Clapham!) road off Clapham high street is this smallish pub where besides the waiter there is a lordly soul who makes his dignified appearance at every table- a stately tomcat who seems to have been part of the furnishings for a while now!

I chose to have their lunch time special- roast pork with all the usual trimmings- including crackling and so did another friend. The rest of the orders at our table ranged from seabass to chorizo and seafood paella. For drinks we mostly chose lemon and tonic water, colas et al, but they do have a wide variety apart from our rather inane choices. Then, for the next hour or so we did complete justice to the food which was not only tasty but also quite generous in portion size. The staff were friendly and generally the whole atmosphere seemed to be relaxed, chilled out- just how a lazy pub lunch should be! We met indoors but they do have a lovely outdoor space too.



Somehow, being an all women group, each of us after a moment's inner struggle, decided not to go in for dessert! (I think its a girl thing- the more delectable the dessert menu (and indeed profiteroles, rhubarb crumbles, ice creams etc. were just doing that), the stronger our little voice echoes- a moment on the lips and forever on the hips). So, we settled for coffees, teas and more news 'n' juice about the office, our lives and the world at large. Finally, after we each voiced our 'If I was given the chance to change policy, the world would be a better place' thoughts, on a light hearted note, we bid farewell till next time.
