Having become a Mum for the first time I have recently come to frequent several cafes in Bath which I had not previously visited – all of which are family/ baby friendly – and, importantly have a decent range of hot beverages and cakes. One of these is the
egg Cafe Egg Cafe .
is linked to the
Theatre Royal , and is located beneath The Egg Theatre, which specialises in theatre productions for children and families. The environment is welcoming and funky, with a central circular area, with comfy seating around the edge, a mirrored ceiling, and red floors and furniture. Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed.
Having visited on several occasions the cafe ranges from being quite calm, with a few Mums having a quiet chat, to pretty hectic. On a recent pre-Christmas family visit, our table, located near to the theatre staircase, was inundated by the swarm of children and some adults, leaving the theatre. Luckily my baby had just woken up from his nap.
[ADVERT]There is a small but decent range of drinks and snacks on offer, including coffees, tea and hot chocolate, soft drinks, small but tasty (and quite filling) rocky roads, fruit-slices and carrot cake. Light lunch (including paninis, jacket potatoes and soup) is also available.
There is an easy-access press-button door to the cafe and stairs lead down to toilets and baby-changing facilities. A play area for toddlers and young children is situated in one corner. Tables are not crowded together meaning there is space for prams, for bottle or breast feeding and for children to move around easily.
