provides a space for some of the best comedy and talent in the UK and beyond. This small venue holds a lot of talent for aspiring comedians who want to make it in the industry.
Opening since 1979, it's been responsible for exposing and elevating young careers as well as hosting comedy nights for the big stars themselves. Located by the iconic Piccadilly Circus, I went to visit here myself to explore some of the nation's up and coming talent. If you're a student like me, some tickets can be as cheap as £6, particularly if you're willing to attend a late night show. Shows generally last 2 hours 20 minutes, as specified on their
website .
Even for weekend tickets, which tends to see more of an exclusive line-up of comedians, early bird tickets can start at £9, with the highest priced ticket I've seen being £23.50. But for two hours of comedy, you can't go wrong really. The comedy I experienced was extremely funny and had gathered the attention and laughter of the entire room within minutes. It's worth not forgetting that here, people are known professionals in the industry - so you should never be too disappointed. Food and drink is, of course, offered along with a 10-minute interval after an hour or so of performances. Unlike most exclusive venues, drink prices here are very reasonable. Food (mainly consisting of pizza) starts at just £7.50 with beer averaging at £5 and glasses of wine just over £4. If humour is your thing, I'd hugely consider visiting , a great opportunity for some adult humour at not so expensive prices!
TIP: If you don't want to get 'roasted', don't stand in the front!
