Described by the composer, Steve Reich, as 'one of the greatest musicians in the world today', Colin Currie, will be performing at the Southbank Centre for a Percussion Festival titled Metal, Wood, Skin. With concerts scheduled between the 17th September - 11th December, Currie will play a range of newly commissioned cutting edge music that has been written specifically for him. Among these will include the premier of Steve Reich's Quartet for 2 Vibraphones & 2 Pianos, and the UK premiere of Andriessen's Percussion Concerto, Tapdance, and new works by James MacMillan and Anna Clyne.
