On Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd December, Chelsea Physic Garden will be holding their annual Christmas Fair. Eighty pre-selected stall holders will set up in huge heated marquees, welcoming visitors with a selection of exclusive Christmas gifts and produce. Jewellery, clothing, ceramics, food and leather goods are just some of what will be on offer here, making it is the perfect place to pick up an unusual present or two away from the bustling high street.
[ADVERT]The fair is open from 10am-4pm both days, so there will be plenty of time to stroll around and take in the festive surroundings. To help put you in the mood, hot food, mince pies and mulled wine will be served up in the garden's Tangerine Dream Cafe.
The garden itself is London's oldest botanic garden, with a maze of shingle pathways winding around exotic plants, trees and flowers from all across the world. Guided tours are available on both days, so if the early-December weather is not too frightful, it's definitely worth a wander round.
The entry fee to the Christmas Fair 2012 is £5 for adults, or if you happen to be a 'friend' of the garden or under-16, you'll get in free. The nearest tube is Sloane Square, or you can get the 170 bus and alight at Flood Street. It's worth noting that prams and pushchairs are not allowed in the marquee.
