A new live concert initiative,
The Castle Sessions , is bringing four huge acts to
Warwick Castle in 2024.
On July 4,
The Darkness takes to the castle stage, followed by
JLS on July 5. On Saturday, July 6
Craig David brings his TS5 party to Warwick, with
Mika concluding the Sessions on July 7.
Justin Hawkins, the lead singer of The Darkness, said: “
We’ll play all your favourite Darkness songs from our illustrious and tipsy turvy career. It will be the best show you’ll see next year. I believe in a thing called love, you believe in a thing called love, they believe in a thing called love… it turns out that we ALL believe in a thing called love!”
JLS – Oritsé Williams, Marvin Humes, Aston Merrygold and JB Gill – are known for their rich, harmonious vocals and slick dance moves, and were the first
X Factor act to win a BRIT Award when in 2010 they took home both British Breakthrough Act and British Single for
Beat Again, the fastest-selling single of 2009. They have sold more than six million records and more than 1.4 million live tickets. Their five studio albums,
JLS, Outta This World, Jukebox, Evolution and
2.0, have all reached the top five in the UK album charts.
Craig David’s TS5 started out as an exclusive pre-party, hosted by Craig at his penthouse home in Miami. His set combines old-school anthems, from R&B to swing beat, to Garage and current chart-topping House hits. Craig is no stranger to the DJ life. Before the success of his solo career, selling over 15 million albums, he was a DJ on the UK club circuit.
Mika opened his pop career in 2007 with the single
Grace Kelly, which went on to sell over three million copies worldwide and was the second British single ever to top the chart on downloads alone. His debut album,
Life In Cartoon Motion, has over 2.8 billion streams to date, selling over 8.3 million albums and racking up 12.8 million digital track sales. The album went straight to number one in the UK and 11 other countries. His second album,
The Boy Who Knew Too Much, released in 2009, continued the trend, making it into the top ten in over 10 countries worldwide.
Liam Bartlett, General Manager of Warwick Castle, said: “
We are so excited to welcome these artists to Warwick Castle as part of The Castle Sessions and hope that this event, along with others in 2024, will bring lots of new visitors into this magnificent town.”
