On a lazy Sunday afternoon you simply cannot beat a pub lunch, and if you happen to be over in West London, then The Carpenter's Arms is a great choice.

Set back from the main road on a quiet residential street of Hammersmith, the friendly pub has a big courtyard to cool off in on a summer's day and a welcoming open-fire to warm up by in the winter. From the menu, you can opt for a traditional Sunday roast with all the trimmings, typical pub grub such as fish and chips or beef burger, or for something lighter the salads are delicious too.

Complement your food with a cold carafe of white wine and some good company, and you'll be all set for the afternoon. You can expect to pay about £10-£15 for a main course and about £6-£7 for a small carafe of wine.

Afterwards, once you've satisfied your taste buds, why not walk it all off with a stroll to the river? It's only a few minutes away and is a really picturesque part of the Thames. For more information about The Carpenter's Arms, including a sample menu and wine list, visit their website here .
