Event: -
An Armed Spectacle

Over 600 servicemen and women will be at Earls Court on the 8th-9th December this year. They will be taking part in The British Military Tournament, A spectacular performance of precision and skill from the courageous men and women in the armed services. The event raises funds for The British Armed Forces, with the money going towards The Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity, ABF The Soldiers' Charity and The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.

The event first began in 2010 to fill the gap left by the world-famous Royal Tournament that ended in 1999, and brings all the theatre that came with it.

This year's event is in honour of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and the soldiers will put on a show commemorating the history of the armed forces from 1926 up to the present conflict in Afghanistan.

Celebrities such as Robert Lindsay and Penelope Keith will be there to commentate across the two and a half hours of masterful performances and displays, which include:

Gymnasts performing a window ladder, and the Queen's Colour Squadron of the Royal Air Force presenting its drill display.

Over 150 horses parading in the Musical Drive of the King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, and the Light Cavalry.

Royal bands, including the largest mass of bagpipe players since the Second World War.

The Royal Navy's Field Gun Run: a tough obstacle course in which competitors must transport a field gun over walls, chasms other treacherous obstacles in their path.

Equine vs Machine - Horses will compete against the Royal Signals' motorcyclists in an obstacle course with flaming hoops.

The Royal Logistic Corps will re-enact a tense bomb disposal mission that happened in Afghanistan.

As well as the performance itself, there are plenty of other activities to enjoy at the exhibition. Test your endurance with laser shooting, paint ball, wall climbing, and assault courses. Meet the soldiers at book signings, get a look at some of the military vehicles and the Navy's dive tank.
