Pop star Alexandra Burke takes on the title role made famous by Whitney Houston in the theatrical version of hit film The Bodyguard when the show tours across the Midlands.

The West End production goes on tour in 2015 and will be performed at Birmingham Hippodrome, Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre, Stoke on Trent's Regent Theatre, Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall and Oxford's New Theatre for the first time.
Alexandra Burke, who won The X Factor and went on to be nominated for three Brit awards, will take on the lead role of Rachel Marron for evening performances. The role will be shared with former Pop Idol contestant Zoe Birkett, who will perform at matinee shows.

The Bodyguard musical was a success in London, selling out at the Adelphi Theatre as it told the romantic story of former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, and superstar Rachel Marron, who he is paid to protect from an unknown stalker.
The musical show features Whitney Houston classics from the original film as well as some of the tragic singer's best known tracks.
Audiences can expect to hear sings including Queen of the Night, So Emotional, One Moment in Time, Saving All My Love, I'm Your Baby Tonight, Run to You, I Have Nothing, I Wanna Dance with Somebody and one of the biggest selling songs of all time – I Will Always Love You.
Glamorous musical numbers and songs feature in The Bodyguard.
Producers Michael Harrison and David Ian picked Alexandra for the role following her success in the charts with songs Hallelujah, Bad Boys and Start Without You, which led to her supporting Beyonce on the I Am... Tour.
Meanwhile, Zoe Birkett shot to fame back in 2002 after appearing on ITV's Pop Idol. She decided to focus on theatre and has since appeared in shows from Priscilla Queen of the Desert to Thriller Live.
Glamorous costumes, chart-topping songs and big dance routines are set to greet audiences during the tour.
