Every Drawing Tells A Story, So Get Creative At Art
People in Lichfield are being urged to get 'quick on the draw' and sign up for a series of city centre art workshops taking place on Saturday 24 October.

Would-be artists of all ages are welcome to have a go at three drop-in workshops taking place between 10am and 4pm as a part of drawing festival, The Big Draw.

This year's theme is 'Every Drawing Tells a Story', and will see children and adults making artwork that celebrates storytelling.

Two artists will be on hand at Lichfield's Three Spires Shopping Centre while a third will be stationed at Speakers' Corner on Dam Street., close to Lichfield Cathedral.

Illustrator and animator, Francis Lowe, will be running a 'Witches, Woods and Riding Hoods' workshop which will see participants creating brand new stories and characters using illustration, animation and comic book art.

Artist Danielle Phelps will be running a 'Match Box Art' workshop, asking shoppers to create their own magical miniature world inside a matchbox.

And the third workshop will be led by artist Lisa Broughton who will be asking passers-by to help create a large map of Lichfield.

Using inspiration from the historical 'Mappa Mundi', the aim is to use places of interest, local streets and buildings to create one huge map.
