No Words Needed By Mask Theatre Company To Tell Love Story
The 'swinging sixties' in Britain are to be recreated in the most innovative way possible in this exciting new production to be staged at the Lichfield Garrick theatre. The Best Thing, which is set in 1966 at the height of the music-driven cultural revolution, has been created by Vamos Theatre, the UK's leading full mask theatre company.
Audiences are being invited to step into the wordless world of Vamos Theatre on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 July to see this bitter-sweet love story with a difference. The play focuses on 17-year-old Susan, with bobbed hair in the fashion of the day, listening to 45s on her record player and waiting to see if adventure is about to come her way during the sixties sexual revolution.
Produced in a co-commission with the London International Mime Festival, which celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2017, The Best Thing is suitable for ages 12 and over, and is also said to be accessible for the deaf and hearing impaired. See The Best Thing at the Lichfield Garrick on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 July 2016, from 7.30pm.
