Following a strong of shows including a sold-out show in Southampton last year, Reading band the Amazons are back in Hampshire on February 9th, playing at Portsmouth Pyramids as part of their current UK tour. Their self-titled debut album was released in May 2017, and since then they've been getting on lists from the BBC, MTV and NME as a new band to keep an eye (and an ear) on.
Their self-titled album has a slickness that is hard to find on some debut releases. Their songs are filled with epic choruses and distinctive riffs, with an unmistakable British-ness about them. Their shows are known for rowdy, sweaty crowds and huge amounts of energy from both the band and their fans.
Hits from the album include 'Junk Food Forever', 'Ultraviolet', 'Black Magic' and 'Palace'. You can check them out on iTunes or by The Amazons from any record store.
Tickets went on sale on August 27th and can be purchased from the Pyramids Live website or by calling the box office on 0844 576 3000. Tickets are £16.50. Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult, and IDs must be presented to purchase alcohol.
Doors open at 6:15pm with the support acts getting started at 7pm.
