New Contemporary Dance Production Explores The Power Of Ten
A Birmingham-based dance company is celebrating a major milestone in its history by taking its new production on the road. ACE Dance and Music are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the first dance show they created and toured by bringing their latest thought-provoking production, entitled TEN, to the Lichfield Garrick theatre stage on January 17.

The full-length dance production will see ACE reunited with choreographer Jose Agundo. TEN is so called because the production promises to explore mankind's desire to reach for the power of 10, described as the universal symbol of completion. The show reflects the current trend of people across the world who find themselves leaving their own homes and countries. Audiences can expect a production that combines intense physical power with human fragility as it explores the concepts of moving away. The collaboration with Jose Agundo delivers hints of flamenco movement to the contemporary production, which is underpinned by ACE Dance and Music's inimitable African style. Giuliano Modarelli's music composition delivers a haunting guitar melody onto the stories, combined with the dynamic soundscape created in collaboration with Beautiful Noise. TEN continues the legacy laid down by ACE's earlier successful production, A Thousand Shepherds, by building on the themes of spiritual dedication and striving.
