Two things that make me really smile: food and music. Well Birmingham's Artsfest had those in buckets, so I was a jolly festival-goer on Sunday afternoon. The sun was shining and boy, does music sound better when it's a cloudless sky and the drinks are flowing. It was the perfect Sunday.
Mirroring the easy atmosphere associated with a summer's Sunday was the band that had everyone singing and clicking in time: Tempting Rosie. An eight-man band born in Birmingham, they are fast-becoming a must-see sensation.
Tempting Rosie are described as indie but they had more of a Bruno Mars flavour, with a dash of reggae and ska. The boys had an impressive stage presence that made you feel like this was a Birmingham exclusive but still managed to fit the festival atmosphere. They got the crowd involved, with myself and my boyfriend clicking along, and when prompted shouting back, "Because it makes me feel good." I like their ideas and their passion for music, and they are clearly natural born performers.
With a performance at the Paralympics already under their belts they are the breakout Brummy band of the moment. Confident, candid, and charming they will have you singing at the top of your lungs to their catchy Tempting Rosie have fun with the crowd, have fun with their lyrics and make every performance a real show.
