For the past year and a half, Tate Britain has been undergoing an intensive renovation project. Restoration of the Grade II listed building has culminated in new galleries, new public spaces, and new exhibitions, all of which opened for the first time on the 19th November.
The Gallery's official
housewarming party, however, will be on the 23rd November, with activities scheduled from 3pm-10pm. There will be live music, films, talks, and early birds have the chance to get a limited edition print signed by artist, Keith Coventry.
The new
BP Walk through British Art exhibit includes an
Juke Box audio adventure, in which visitors can contribute by creating their own vinyl record. You will also be able to listen to other people's playlists.
Workshops include a
Tate Treasure Hunt, in which you will search for clues and solve riddles through an examination of artwork.
In Material will allow families to collaborate in order to construct 3D installations, while in the digital world, you will be able to animate some of the gallery's online art. You can also watch short film films, take a tour of LGBT art, and explore
five hundred years of British Art. All events are free, although some require booking.
