The weather forecast may say that a white Christmas is not expected throughout most of the UK, but that hasn't prevented several snowmen appearing in a small part of England. A
snowman trail has been created in the Staffordshire town of Tamworth, with people of all ages being encouraged to see if they can spot the hidden snowmen dotted around. And, as an extra incentive, there are prizes on offer for anyone discovering all the hidden snowmen. A total of six snowmen have been displayed in windows around the town centre until New Year's Eve, December 31. Find all six and, together, they will reveal a secret word which offers the possibility of winning a sweets hamper.
Families are invited to download a map of the trail from the Tamworth Borough Council's Arts and Events website page found here: www.tamworthartsandevents.co.uk/snowman-hunt.
The aim of the trail is that families will go on a hunt around the town and spot the snowmen who will each bear a letter. All the letters will spell a word that will need to be emailed to
[email protected]. All received answers will then be entered into a prize draw and the winner will be announced in the New Year.
Councillor John Chesworth, the council's Cabinet Member for Environment and Culture, said: "
We hope that families visiting our town to shop local this Christmas, will enjoy this small, fun activity and enter the competition by emailing answers to our Arts and Events team. A festive sweet hamper is up for grabs so download your map today."
