Four Nights Of Exciting Theatre As Drama Festival Arrives
An exciting drama festival will soon be getting underway in Tamworth in Staffordshire with four nights of theatre set to satisfy audiences of all description. The 2017 Tamworth Hastilow Drama Festival will feature a series of one act plays by the best amateur dramatic groups throughout the region. Both adult and youth theatre companies from Tamworth and the surrounding area will compete throughout the festival, with up to three plays being performed each night from Wednesday 22 March through until Saturday 25 March.
Four nights of theatre awaits at Tamworth Hastilow Drama Festival
Performances will be scored by The Guild of Drama Adjudicators (GoDA) festival adjudicator Nick Wilkes, with the winners in a variety of categories then being able to progress to the next round of the celebrated All England Theatre Festival. The nightly drama will unfold throughout the four days of the festival at the Two Rivers High School Theatre, Torc Campus, off Silver Link Road, Tamworth, where audiences will be invited to enjoy the performances for just £6 per evening.

Doors open at 6.30pm daily, with performances starting at 7pm prompt. Latecomers will not be permitted until the next interval.
Tamworth Hastilow Drama Festival, which has been sponsored by the Staffordshire County Council Community Fund, is the first in a new season of 'Assembly Rooms on Tour' events, which will see performances being taken out into the community this spring to ensure audiences and theatre groups continue to benefit from live entertainment during the refurbishment of the historic theatre.

The season continues with Tamworth Arts Club's production of Peter Pan A Musical Adventure at the Landau Forte Theatre in Ashby Road from Tuesday 18 April to Saturday 22 April. This will be followed by a special concert marking the 15th anniversary of Tamworth's association with twin town Vaujours in France, which will be held at Wilnecote High School on Saturday 22 April.
