Remember, remember, the 5th of November. Well, there will certainly be no excuse if you happen to live in the Tamworth area as a spectacular fireworks display is set to take place in front of thousands of excited spectators.

Fireworks set to light up the Tamworth sky
The countdown is on to the biggest and most popular event in the calendar of the Staffordshire market town with a much anticipated and unmissable free fireworks display earmarked to take place in
Tamworth Castle Grounds on Bonfire Night itself, Saturday 5 November.

The colourful display will last 20 minutes
The impressive 20-minute display of fireworks, which will be set to music, will light up the skies above Tamworth from 8pm. But this will merely be the climax to a great evening of fun and entertainment for the whole family. In fact, the programme of activities is set to begin at 6pm and will include fire performers, face painting, a sparkler zone, family activities, food stalls and a fair.

Tamworth Castle Grounds is the setting for fireworks display
Organised by Tamworth Borough Council's Arts and Events team, and sponsored by the town's Ankerside Shopping Centre, the fireworks spectacular has become a firm family favourite in the town's annual calendar of events. It has attracted upwards of 25,000 people in recent years and the same number of people is expected to attend this year's event. As a result, people are advised to walk or use public transport to the Castle Grounds wherever possible as there is only limited free parking available within existing town-centre car parks from 6pm.

The fireworks display will be set to music
Councillor Joy Goodall, Tamworth Borough Council's Cabinet member for Environment and Culture, said: "This event is hugely popular and draws large crowds from near and far. Part of its success is down to the Arts and Events team always striving to make it bigger and better and I'm sure this year will be no different.

Other activities include fire performers and a fair
We're delighted to host such a large event for thousands and thousands of people to enjoy, free of charge, and we are lucky to have the resources and facilities to make it possible. I hope lots of families come along to the Castle Grounds and enjoy the celebrations. However, it will be busy, so I'd urge people to plan ahead and either walk or arrange alternative transport."
