Free concert to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society
A free Christmas concert is being staged in a Staffordshire village to raise awareness and funds for dementia. Talented pupils from a local primary school will be staging the extra special carol concert at St Leonard's Church in Wigginton, near Tamworth, on December 6 to get everyone in the festive spirit. The Christmas concert, which is being presented by Tamworth Dementia Action Alliance, is aimed at raising money for the Alzheimer's Society. The free event will feature St Leonard's C of E Primary School pupils singing traditional Christmas songs through the ages and festive sing-a-long favourites. The event also provides an opportunity for people to find out more about local dementia support services. People are invited to attend the concert at St Leonard's Church from 6pm to browse Christmas stalls and learn about dementia services, with the hour-long concert starting at 7pm. There will also be free refreshments although donations will be welcomed in aid of the Alzheimer's Society.
