Whatever your 'poison', there's plenty of coffee on route
If you love coffee and can appreciate the difference between a latte and a cappuccino, then a 'brewtiful' new trail in Staffordshire is just for you. A new town centre Coffee Trail has been launched in Tamworth which enables lovers of the drink to sample the delights of 19 cafes and coffee shops throughout October. The trail has been put together by Tamworth Borough Council, in partnership with the local business community, to celebrate and promote some of the great enterprises in Tamworth and encourage people to support their high street. It was also created to coincide with International Coffee Day on October 1. Throughout October, individual businesses on the trail are being featured on the Visit Tamworth social media channels on Facebook and Twitter. A map of the trail can also be found on the Visit Tamworth website, together with a description of the cafes and coffee shops included. Among those signing up for the Coffee Trail are The Mayor of Tamworth, Councillor Rosey Claymore, and Radio Tamworth DJ Rob Bowker who, together, aim to visit all 19 coffee spots on the route.

Councillor Claymore said: "We have some amazing local independent businesses in Tamworth and they need our support more than ever so I'm happy to help shine a light on them; drinking coffee and sampling cake - it's a tough job being Mayor! On a serious note though, this year is so far removed from a normal Mayoral year and the pandemic has meant that all the usual civic occasions and any events I would like to have planned can't take place, so I'm pleased that this is a small part I can play to support the local business community. Whether you take a friend or enjoy some quiet time on your own, I hope people have a look at the coffee trail and visit some of the businesses on it this month, or in the future. There are some really great family-run cafes and coffee shops in Tamworth who could really use our support now."

DJ Rob added: "I was delighted to be asked to support our Mayor in following the Coffee Trail by visiting loads of fabulous establishments across our town centre over the next month. We'll be sampling their fine coffee and cake and giving updates along the way. This civic duty malarkey is tough but someone has to do it!"
