What Better Way To Start The Hols Than Learn Circus Skills
Roll up, roll up! People in Tamworth and the surrounding Staffordshire area have the chance to join the circus for just one day. Well, they may not get the chance to 'run off with the circus', but they will be given the opportunity to learn some of the skills associated with working underneath the Big Top.
People of all ages are invited to try their hand at a range of circus skills which will be taking place on Saturday 23 July in Tamworth Castle Grounds. The circus skills workshops as well as interactive storytelling sessions will be hosted from the bandstand and on the upper lawn of the Castle Grounds as part of the free programme of summer entertainment in the shadows of historic Tamworth Castle.

Have-a-go circus skills taking place between 12 noon and 4pm on July 23 will include stilt walking, juggling, poi, spinning plates, Diablo and many more. This will be interspersed with interactive storytelling sessions for young children, who will be encouraged to become part of the tale with various toys and props. Organised by Tamworth Borough Council's Arts & Events team, the annual bandstand concerts sees the circular stage come to life throughout the summer with music and entertainment for all tastes.
This year, the programme has been extended to provide audiences with further concerts and a greater degree of variety with performances from 12 different groups. All concerts and shows are entirely free of charge and take place regularly between 12noon and 4pm subject to weather conditions. More information is available online.
