"Sutra a 'unique, profoundly imagined work' (The Guardian) is a collaboration between one of Europe's most exciting dancer-choreographers Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Turner Prize-winning sculptor Antony Gormley and 17 practicing Buddhist monks from the Shaolin Temple in China. It is a piece of dance that is at once deeply hypnotic, playful and breathtakingly athletic."

Shaolin Monks in action
Blurring the line between kung fu and dance is Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Antony Gormley's Sutra where the Shaolin Monks display strength, power and a fluidity that comes from years of honing your craft.
If you've always been interested in Kung Fu, Tai Chi, or self-defence generally, you'll appreciate the patience, skill and passion behind this inspiring piece of performance. My father isn't a fan of theatre, but he's a huge Bruce Lee fan (like Antony Gormley), and has practised self-defence himself - I know he'd be impressed by a performance like this, so I've bought tickets.
It's seventy minutes of pure entertainment, so if you're drinking before the performance I suggest you nip to the loo before it starts because there's no interval.
Hats off to choreographers and Shaolin Monks, Sutra looks set to be a triumph.
