A buzz is forming, if you place your ear to the ground you may just hear the gathering rumble. It almost sounds as if the six million dollar man is hurtling towards us, in many ways he is. As Nanotechnology moves forward at a startling pace, and seemingly endless areas of cosmetic and prosthetic advancements achieve success beyond our wildest dreams, Lee Majors may turn prophet, spooky.

Putting aside classic must see 70s Nostradamus television for the moment, The Wellcome Collection is hosting a new intriguing Exhibition 'Superhuman'. With examples of Egyptian prosthetic limbs pin pointing the progression to our modern day advancements, 'Superhuman' offers artistic comment on the great strides of technology, and its far reaching benefits.

As well as pointing out the new power of Nanotechnology and surgical cosmetics, 'Superhuman' displays a series of interlocking exhibitions from varying artists. Pointing towards the necessity of our technological progress and the needless aesthetics 'Superhuman' aims to hopefully entertain and educate. With notable stars like Matthew Barney and Dorothy Cross it proves to be an interesting event.

What an ungraspable notion perfection is, yet as surgical knifes become ever sharper, and technology continues its alarming momentum, our arms stretch high for the unachievable. As I gaze at my saggy morning mush I wonder what I would do if given filthy amounts of wonga, a cosmetic surgeons number and a scientist willing to experiment. Nah I'm keeping my grey hair, saggy eyes and lengthy nose, I don't wont to freakout my aging mother.

Squeezing together over a 100 exhibits, 'Superhuman' offers us artworks, performances, videos and artifacts to display the conundrum of coupling physical and chemical enhancements. Commencing on July 19th 'Superhuman' also seems to offer differing views and approaches to this question. On till October 16th I'll be making my merry way down there on my old fashion creaky organic legs, but if these new mind boggling advancements drop down in price a little, maybe who knows?
