The Sunday Evening quiz at Velo Lounge has become a Bath institution. Every Sunday night ay 8pm there is a six round, interesting and healthily competitive quiz. Increasingly popular since the extensive refit that Velo had last year, the prizes range from winning the combined 1 entry fees, or 'the pot', to food and drink vouchers for the Gastropub venue itself. Serving food until late, many folks have a meal and then take on the uqiz, but I prefer to tackle the quiz over a few beers with friends. With its relaxed and welcoming ambience, Velo is a lovely place to wind up the weekend before the return to work and the Monday Blues set in.

Velo's affable and wise quizmaster is Mr Scott Wheatley, who always comes armed with intriguing and challenging questions for the event. Teams of up to six are permitted, and a quirky quiz team name is essential! I always enjoy the variety and intrigue of the rounds on offer, and the 'random round' is always a pleasant surprise. The last one was 'The Life of Leonardo Da Vinci' . Other notable rounds have been 'famous Badboys' and 'Hollywood Musicals'. With a generous interval of half an hour, there is always time to have a decent chat and check those answers.

Fancy a relaxed and fun way to backhand the Monday Blues? Come down and check out the Velo quiz. There is ample parking along Moorland Road (especially during the evening), or the place is a swift 10 minute walk from the city centre. With a 'Nextbike' hire rack adjacent to the premises, you could even arrive on two wheels. Add great food and drink and a stylish interior in to the mix, then what's not to love?
