Can you hear that? That low grumble. Aching tummies, and empty bellies, Birmingham locals have been hungry for some time now, and the
Streetfood Social has been listening. This new event comes to Cathedral Square (Pigeon Park), from the organisers of
BYY . They're big, they're clever, and they've rounded up the best streetfood chefs in the Midlands.
If you've been to a BYY event, you'll know they well and truly deliver; vendors are hand-picked, and are put under the microscope, as long as the food packs flavour, it's in.
launches this Friday from noon, and because it's the launch weekend, it will continue on to Saturday. Subsequently, the will be a weekly Friday feature. So those who work in the Colmore Business District, on New Street, in and around the shopping vicinity (Bullring), or even if you're as far as Consitiution Hill, I've no doubt you will hear, if not, drink up the aroma that will be wafting your way. I say you'll hear it because there is an audible satisfaction as you take the first bite of whatever you're eating. At every BYY event, from
Wafflespeak (The Bourneville Waffle Co.), burgers from Ross & Ross, or
Big Daddies Diner , which are the glamorised junk food favourite (hotdogs, but done properly), BYY hits the spot.
seems just what the people of Birmingham need of a lunchtime. Some of the food is local, some is organic, but it's guaranteed, that all of the food is damn good, and worth a try.
Dishes range between £3-5.00, so you're getting a fair deal, as well as a filling, flavoursome lunch. As a launch weekend special, will take place on both Friday and Saturday from 12 to 5pm. There's free mulled wine for diners and what the organisers call perfect lunchtime tunes from the BRUM YUM YUM DJs.
