If you're in Stratford-upon-Avon and fancy a break from all the Shakespeare exhibitions, I can recommend taking a short walk over the River Avon to visit .

Describing itself as the 'UK's largest tropical butterfly paradise', the farm has an impressive collection of around 2000 butterflies at any one time.

There's so much to see, with butterflies of every colour perching on every branch. If you're lucky, you might even have one land on your shoulder.

If you've brought a camera, you might have problems with the lens steaming up to begin with. However, after about 15 minutes the camera should get used to the tropical temperature, and you'll be free to get some great photos.

The main flight area is a mini-rainforest, complete with waterfalls, pools and exotic flowers.

If you're patient, you can even get photos of butterflies and tropical fish together in the same photo:

It's not just about butterflies. They also have one of the largest insect collections in the UK and a selection of reptiles. Two free-ranging iguanas also live here, so keep an eye on the treetops and you may spot one.

You could see everything in an hour, but if you enjoy photography it's easy to spend a few hours happily snapping away.

All in all, this is one of Stratford-upon-Avon's best tourist attractions and is definitely recommended.
