This year
Stockwell Festival is celebrating cultural diversity in Larkhall Park. On the 7th September between 11.30am-5.30pm, you will be able to enjoy music from international artists, world cuisine, and special dance performances.
From noon, the main stage will come alive, starting with the Gospel and R&B singer, Adelaide McKenzie. She will be followed by London guitarist,
Ashley Dawes , and the multinational band, The Overtones. Then at 1.30pm there will be a Stockwell's Got Talent show.
In the afternoon, the Cabaret Tent will host a variety of entertainment, including comedy and burlesque (strictly for over 18s only).
Down in the Community Quarter you can take part in a drumming workshop, Zumba, and various other workouts at the Brixton Recreation Centre. The children will also be entertained at the fairground with rides, face painting, and stilt walkers.
It is a dog-friendly event, so bring your faithful friend with you for free microchipping, provided by Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. They will also be offering a dog-tag engraving service. If you're going by bike,
Cycle PS will be running free repair workshops, too. Don't forget to visit the market place, where there will be fair trade fashion, crafts, gifts, and delicious Guyanese street food.
