Summer in the City at Spitalfields Music Festival
Spitalfields Summer Music Festival returns again this June with another eclectic mix of classical music from many different periods, as well as jazz and folk. All 46 performances are spread across different venues ranging from the Bishopsgate Institute, Hoxton Hall, Christ Church Spitalfields
and St Leonard's Church Shoreditch. You will need to check the website carefully for full details and times of performances.
There are family friendly events, such as Songlines,

open air folk performances and even concerts that include food and drink. The Orlando Consort will be singing at Christ Church Spitalfields, followed by a three-course meal and music at the nearby English Restaurant

and The Early Opera Company will also join forces with the Whitechapel Coffee Company in a recreation of Leipzig's Zimmermann's Coffee House for Coffee Cantatas. It goes without saying that the area is full of places to eat for those events that don't include food.
If you're stuck for somewhere to go between 7 and 22 June, you could do a lot worse than head off down to Spitalfields.
