Groovy Electronics in Church

Influence is an artistic and cultural project led by passionate activists who want to promote electronic music throughout Europe. Their aim is to protect underground culture by creating events that feature an eclectic mixture of local and international talent.

The next group of people Influence hope to influence are church-goers, when they put on a Spiritual Groove at St John at Hackney. On the 19th September, why not give the organs and choir boys a day off, and listen to some electronics by A Guy Called Gerald?

The Mancunian began his music career in the 1980s, with his popular acid house track 'Voodoo Ray'. Influenced by his Jamaican roots, mother's Pentecostal church, and jazz fusion, he has become 'a self-written bible of dance music.'

He will be joined by Danton Eeprom. Born and raised in France, he has loved electronica from an early age, and best well known for his collaboration with Radio Slave, when creating Grindhouse.

The event starts at 6pm with tickets starting from 12 for first release (until 1st August), then going up to 15 on second release. Final release is starts from the 5th September for 18.
