Jazz artist Soweto Kinch is putting on a free gig at the Symphony Hall Café Bar, mid-morning, to wake you up, and ease you into the weekend. Bring your dancing shoes because Soweto's street sounds of true jazz will get you on your feet.

I know Soweto personally, and have to say he's one of the most passionate and dedicated people I know. He lives for his art and practices for hours a day when he's rehearsing for a show. Soweto doesn't do it for the money; he toots out jazzy tunes and puts in the effort because he loves performing, and entertaining a crowd. He's a lovely guy, but don't too close because he won't let anyone near his most prized possession: his saxophone. I picked it up once when we were driving to a café for a bite to eat and he looked at me as though I'd just screamed some obscenity.

Soweto loves interaction, so please get lost in his music because my boy is very talented, and has been preparing for the Symphony Hall crowd for weeks.
