Spring is just around the corner. While we're experiencing a bit of a cold snap at the moment, it won't be long till it's time to start tilling your soil and planting your seeds ready for the first harvest of the year. If you're a passionate gardener, or just like to grow a few herbs on your windowsill, the Southampton Seed Swap can be a great opportunity to pick up some new seeds and exchange some tips and tricks with other local green thumbs. The Seed Swap will be held at Southampton's Art House Cafe on Sunday February 25th, starting at 12pm.
The Southampton Seed Swap has been running annually since 2006. Inspired by Brighton's Seedy Sunday, you're encouraged to bring along your own saved up fruit, vegetable, flower or herb seeds to swap with others who have something different. As well as seeds, some might also be bringing along small plants or seedlings, it'll all be up for grabs.
Don't worry if you're fresh to gardening and don't have anything to offer. There will be a selection of seeds on sale too, These will be 30p a packet, or 4 for £1. Even if you're not planning on swapping or buying any seeds, it's a great place to meet some like-minded local gardeners and learn a bit more about people's projects for the new year.
