Get ready for a bit of a sonic adventure with "." This immersive sound installation by Mikhail Karikis, a Greek/British artist who knows his way around an award or two, is set to make waves in Manchester. It's all about how we humans connect with the environment and how singing together might just be the key to surviving the climate crisis. And trust us, there's nothing like a good choir to get you thinking about rising sea levels while you're stuck in traffic.
In this project, Mikhail teamed up with the SHE cooperative choir, which is made up of women and non-binary folks who aren't afraid to belt out a tune. They've taken a good look at climate data maps showing what the UK might look like by 2050, and let's just say it's not exactly picnic weather. The choir members ponder the big changes we'll need to navigate those waters, both literally and socially. So, if you fancy a thought-provoking experience wrapped up in some lovely harmony, head over to HOME and give your ears and mind a treat.
