Discover the future of the art world
As the end of the year is approaching, many art and design schools in London are presenting shows. Slade School of Fine Art is the University College of London and one of the best fine art schools in the United Kingdom.
For their Degree Show, works of the whole 2017 class were exhibited on different floors and rooms in the school, including installations, videos, paintings, sculpture and performance. You can easily get lost in the building so do follow the floorplans.
An interesting work was the one of Genna Daya, called Stilts, which invited the audience to destroy its fragile blue/green tiles over sticks.
I also liked the work of Will Spratley, because it is quite similar to my work. He displayed huge geometric shapes made of colourful wax: an interesting material that is not that common in sculpture. The difference between a degree show and an exhibition in a gallery is that you can sometimes touch the work.
