SKIN is the tale of one boy's experience of gender transition. Following a cast of seven dancers, the tale will take the viewer on a journey of what it means to have an identity that doesn't match your body, how families deal with gender transitions and what it means to belong. The show is choreographed by Andrea Walker.
201 Dance Company is a contemporary group whose style can be described as urban, original and modern. SKIN is the groups latest show and they have previously performed a sell-out, international dance tour of the show Smother. As a popular dance group, this is one story you will not want to miss.
The dance show is part of the Queer Contact Festival, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The festival takes place at the Contact Theatre on Oxford Road along with other venues around the city. As a way to celebrate the LGBT community, the festival is an amazing event in the city.
SKIN takes place at the Waterside Arts Centre, on Friday 9th February 2018 starting at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £12 full price and £10 for concessions, schools and under 25's.
