Date in a Dash is Rob's way of bringing young single Londoner's together. He founded the speed dating service in 2011 after being the victim of some poorly run dating events, and didn't want others to to be put off by similar bad experiences.
Going on a first date can feel awkward, especially if you have never met that person before, but Rob has created five different events to help break the ice. These include Singles Parties, Lock & Key Parties, Comedy Dating, Quiz Dating, Dating in the Dark & Gay Speed Dating.
Out of these, Lock & Key is probably the best ice breaker; not only is it entertaining, but it avoids the 'what do I say/what should we talk about' problem.
The next Lock & Key night is at The Roof Gardens on the 15th August. A hundred feet above Kensington, this private members' club venue has atmospheric surroundings to set a romantic mood. Upon arrival every woman will be given a padlock, and every man a key. The aim of the game is to find the matching combination by circulating and socialising round the group. Find you match and win a prize. Date in a Dash manages to match an average of 75% of people who take part, but if you don't find someone you would like to meet again, then you get to attend another event for free.
The event is aimed at 21 - 40 years olds. If you book now early bird tickets are £10, while later bookings are £20. The party starts at 7pm and lasts till 10pm, but after that you are free to stay in the garden until 3am.
