As the Olympic Borough of Hackney gets ready for the games, the Shoreditch Festival is bringing some local cheer with live music, dance, theatre and events from the 14th - 22nd July.
The festivities kick off with a Street Party in Hoxton with a vintage twist including Tea Dances, a street market and live music and performance and even a specially brewed festival ale on the 14th of July .
The 21st of July is a big day for Hackney with the One Hackney Festival Parade due to start from Shoreditch Park at 10.30am and the Olympic Flame expected to arrive at Kingsland Road at 4pm so be sure to check the website for full details and the programme for the day.
The Olympic Celebrtions are followed by live music and performances on a floating stage along Regent's Canal on the 21st and 22nd of July celebrating 200 years since the approval to build the Waterway.
Hoxton Street Party
The Hoxton Street Party on the 14th July is a free event featuring music, circus acts and even tea dances.
Festivities start from 10am and include arts and vintage stalls, activities such as mask making workshops in Hoxton Hall and an exhibition dedicated to forgotten games.

One Hackney Festival Parade and Arrival of the Olympic Torch
On the 21st of July the One Hackney Festival Parade is due to start from Shoreditch Park at 10.30am on its way to Stoke Newington and the Olympic Torch is expected to arrive along Kingsland Road at 4pm.

The Shoreditch Festival along Regents Canal
Head to the Regents Canal on the 21st and 22nd July for boat trips, live music, art and storytelling featuring performances from floating stages from 1pm to 9pm along the Canal starting at Dunston Road.
