See Shen Yun and Experience Chinese Dance and Music
An evening spent watching Shen Yun will transport you back on a 5,000 year journey reviving and celebrating Chinese classical dance. The new 2013 show performed by this New York based company reanimates the tradition of heroic legends and imperial drama; 90 dancers and musicians perform folk dances to a live orchestral backing played on both Western and Chinese instruments. Dressed in exquisite handmade costume and performing against a backdrop of geographically different Chinese locations the classically trained dancers interpret both modern stories and ancient legends.

Taking advantage of the artistic freedoms provided by the United States, the dancers, singers and musicians of Shen Yun have regenerated traditional Chinese culture and will be sharing their spectacle with Londoners at the Barbican Centre in a production that can no longer be seen in China.
