Born a while ago in the Woolloomooloo suburbs of Sydney, Sheila Jayne Simmonds grew up to be a popular girl who excelled at everything she did, from home-baking to ballet. Winning the Miss Australia competition, her beauty and talent brought her to the screen. Sheila appeared in the television show Young Talent Time, where she met Dannii and Kylie Minogue. They were going to produce a record together, but due to scheduling difficulties, the project never took off.
Still, Sheila did not let this setback get her down; success soon followed when she was spotted by TVSN while demonstrating a salad spinner at Woolworths. From then on Sheila became the number one home shopping presenter in Australia.
That was until she moved to London, where she met The Supreme Fabulettes, and has now joined them on their Viva La Drag! tour. Singing a mash up of number one hits such as 'I'm Every Woman', 'Gimme Gimme Gimme', 'Car Wash', 'We Are Family', 'Born This Way', 'Survivor', 'Crazy in Love', 'Man I Feel Like a Woman', and 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun', you can see them perform at the Leicester Square Theatre between the 26th-28th June. Tickets are £20-£25.
Never one to miss a opportunity, Sheila will be making the most of her stay by giving a solo show on the 25th & 29th June. She came to the UK after an invitation by QVC to promote her products on their shopping channel; they also promised her a gold plated name badge. Her Quest for the Golden Name Badge will taker her on a journey full of comedy, songs, polyester, and hashtags. Will she earn the illustrious award? Tickets are £12 or £10 concessions if you want to find out.
