There's no better way to feel great and lift your mood then having a really good laugh. The
North Wall Arts Centre in Oxford's Summertown, kicks of it's comedy season with Shazia Mirza and her latest show 'Cuckooland' for one night only on Friday 1st February. This is also the first date in Shazia's UK tour of 19 shows.

The North Wall Arts Centre has a bumper brochure of events
Shazia is a multi talented, award winning, internationally acclaimed, stand up comedian and writer. Quite a mouthful I know but if her reviews are anything to go by then she's not to be missed. You might already know her work from her column in the Guardian, have caught a previous show or seen her on one of her many TV appearances. She even had a BBC3 documentary which achieved 613,000 viewers on it's first showing (F*** Off I'm A Hairy Woman).
Originally from Birmingham, Shazia Mirza has an interesting background and dedication to comedy. She had the chance to settle down, marry a rich man and enjoy all the luxuries life could provide. Instead, she has worked the comedy scene with a richly deserved success coming her way.
The latest tour Cuckooland is described in the blurb as "Anyone can be anything, do anything and say anything. Who cares what anyone thinks, you're going to say it anyway!. You have to be a bit deluded but some people are just living in Cuckooland!". It promises to be full of laughs. If you can't make this date, check
Shazia Mirza's website for a list of other venues.
The performance at the North Wall Arts Centre starts at 8pm with tickets priced at £13 (concessions £11). The seating is unreserved so it's recommended to arrive 15 minutes in advance to get the seat of your choice.
