The Shard, one of the most prominent new skyscrapers appearing on the London skyline, opened with a light-show on Thursday July 5th, 2012.

The colourful display included 30 searchlights and twelve lasers pointing to other landmarks in London, including the London Eye and Tower Bridge.

Designed by Renzo Piano, the 310m, 72- floor skyscraper looks particularly impressive seen from the entrance to London Bridge train station.

Nearest Rail/Underground: London Bridge.
