On the 23rd April 1564 a baby was born, who would change the world of literature forever. His name was William Shakespeare. He is probably the most famous literary figure in history, having written hundreds of poems and thirty-seven published plays.
This year he turns 449 years old, and the Globe Theatre, seemingly unable to wait until his 450th anniversary, a giving Shakespeare a Birthday Whirligig, with events spanning from 20th April - 9th August. Experience midnight performances (watch out for pesky fairies), stand-up comedy, and scenic walks, as well as a number of educational events.
