What's on at the former Barclaycard Arena

New name: Arena Birmingham

September 9 is the date devotees of Qawali and Sufi music have been waiting for. That's when the Nooran Sisters described as ''the most amazing and exciting act to come out of India's Punjab in recent years'' perform at Arena Birmingham. Jyoti and Sultana Nooran have a rich family heritage in Sufi classical music and have already headlined the prestigious Nakodar Mela in Punjab, in the presence of the legendary Gurdas Maan. The Arena Birmingham show will feature their full live band.

Having caught the attention of AR Rahman, the music supremo enlisted the sisters to perform on the 2015 hit record, Patakha Guddi, for the film Highway starring Alia Bhatt. This resulted in the sisters picking up a number of industry awards, among them 'Best Bollywood Song' at the IIFA Awards and 'Best Upcoming Female Vocalist' at the MMA Awards. Over 800 million people watched the sisters when they took the stage at the International Indian Film Awards in 2015.

Bollywood comes to Arena Birmingham on September 16. One of the megastars of the film genre, Salman Khan, is bringing a galaxy of stars for Da-Bangg The Tour.

The show sees Salman performing alongside a host of dazzling luminaries, including silver screen starlets Sonakshi Sinha, Jacqueline Fernandez and Daisy Shah; superstar of the South, actor, dancer and director, Prabhu Deva; chart-topping rapper Badshah; rising star Suraj Pancholi; evergreen music artist Kamaal Khan; and popular television host Manish Paul.

Believed to be the world's biggest Bollywood live show to date, Da-Bangg The Tour boasts an impressive troupe of 120 dancers, technicians and creatives from India.

On September 20 John Legend's Darkness and Light Tour arrives at Arena Birmingham. The album Darkness and Light was released to critical acclaim in December 2016. Since its release, John Legend (pictured below) has co-executive produced and starred in the box office smash La La Land which has gone on to win seven Golden Globe Awards and six Academy Awards. He also performed the title track to the recent remake of Beauty and the Beast with Ariana Grande.

Rounding off the first month of its new branding, Arena Birmingham hosts The Australian Pink Floyd Show on September 30.

Performing the music of Pink Floyd with note for note perfection, this critically acclaimed tribute show has been astonishing audiences worldwide. Striving to reproduce the Pink Floyd experience and bring the music to new audiences, the show includes a stunning light and laser show, video animations, state of the art high resolution LED screen technology and other special effects. To accompany these visuals are several large inflatables, including a giant pig and their own distinct Pink Kangaroo.
