If your kids tell you that they want to watch Transformers, then why not do as they ask, and take them to the Natural History Museum? Up until the 1st September, they will be able to see a transformation that does not require any visual effects: a caterpillar turning into a butterfly.
At the Sensational Butterflies exhibition, you will be able to enter the butterfly house, and have close encounters with over fifty species of butterflies and moths. These include the brilliant blue morpho and spectacular swallowtail, which will be hiding in the dense foliage. Learn about how they lay their eggs, build cocoons, and transform from a wiggly creature to a winged beauty.
Tickets are £5.50 each or £19 for families. Children will be able to take on a butterfly challenge by going on a trail and collecting stamps.
There will be scheduled free talks at the Attenborough Studio, including Marvellous Moths on the 21st June, where you will learn how they are different from butterflies, and A Night in the Jungle on the 27th June where you will find out what they get up to at night.
