Multi-award-winning comedian Sara Pascoe brings her new stand-up show, Success Story, to The Alexandra in Birmingham on March 19, 2023. Tickets, priced from £19.40, are available from www.atgtickets.com/birmingham .

The date is part of the 41-year-old’s biggest-ever tour and follows up her 2017 LadsLadsLads show which debuted at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and culminated in two shows at the London Palladium which was filmed for a BBC2 special. Success Story finds Sara a few years later, happily married with a baby son.

The show sees Sara examining what it is to be successful, how we define it and how it feels when what we want eludes us. She reflects on how, at the age of 14, she decided she wanted to be famous and ended up appearing in Michael Barrymore’s talent contest, My Kind Of People. There are celebrity anecdotes galore, from Hugh Grant to Pete Burns, James Corden to Lily Allen. The show’s second half sees Sara musing on getting older and becoming a parent at the age of 40.

A regular on our TV screens, Sara wrote and starred in the BBC2 sitcom, Out Of Her Mind, and hosted The Great British Sewing Bee, Last Woman On Earth, Dave’s Comedians Giving Lectures, Comedy Central’s Guessable and Live at The Apollo’s Christmas Special. She has appeared on Mock the Week, Have I Got News for You, QI, Would I Lie to You? and 8 out of 10 Cats.

She also wrote and performed the BBC Radio 4 series Modern Monkey and the BBC2 short Sara Pascoe vs Monogamy, which was inspired by her first book Animal. Her second book, Sex Power Money, was a Sunday Times bestseller, and the accompanying podcast garnered millions of listens and multiple award nominations during its run. Her first novel, Weirdo, is set for publication on September 14.

The Success Story tour also visits The Tyne Theatre in Newcastle on March 16 and Manchester's Palace Theatre on March 18.
